TATA INDICA VISTA was launched on 23 August 2008. The INDICA VISTA has three different engines - Safire, Quadrajet and TDI. Safire is a petrol engine and Quadrajet is a diesel engine. Safire and Quadrajet engine technology has been taken from FIAT which is already present in their car called PALIO. The TDI engine technology is already present in previous version of TATA INDICA.
The INDICA VISTA SAFIRE gives 65PS of peak power and 96nm of peak torque. The INDICA VISTA QUADRAJET gives 75PS of peak power and 190nm of maximum torque. All the version of Vista has 5 manual speed transmisson.
The TATA INDICA VISTA is going to give a tough competition to MARUTI SWIFT DDIs.
The new generation Indica is spacious than the current Indica larger dimensions (length - 3795 mm, width - 1695 mm, height - 1550 mm and wheelbase- 2470 mm). Fuel tank capacity of the new vista is 37 liters.
The Indica Vista comes out variants - Aqua, Aura and Terra. Aura is the top end variant and the terra the low end variant is not offered with quadrajet diesel. All the variants of Vista has power steering.
But if we talk about the safety then there is a big question mark. All the varients of Vista lack in ABS (Antilock Breaking System) and Air Bags which is a major drawback of the car.
The indica vista is available in seven colours - cavern grey, marine silver, artic silver, gala red, solar orange, noble blue and infinity balck. The new Indica vista will co-exist with the existing one. However the current Indica will be available only with two engine options contrary to present four. The indica vista will be priced between Rs3.5 to Rs5 lakhs.
